Durham Constabulary
"I used to work for Durham Police. I walked in the digital investigation team’s office (the officers who view the most horrific sex crimes) and saw one officer had a coffee cup saying ‘I get to watch porn all day.’ I felt physically sick, and was overcome with shock. I could hardly believe that I was in a room full of people who also thought this behaviour from a colleague was ok. I complained but nothing was done. I also complained that senior officers were misogynistic and my (male) manager simply told me ‘they’re not.’ He never asked why, or what I’d experienced to have that view. Misogyny, sexism, bullying and dismissal of sex crimes is rife at ‘the best force in the UK.’"

"I ended up leaving the Met after nearly 6 years with severe PTSD and was mercifully stopped from hanging myself in my parents garden by the family dog on the night of my resignation. I can’t even begin to describe the hundreds of stories of toxicity, betrayal, extreme stress, bullying, assault and harrassment that I was put under. There is one story that, at long last, only makes me angry rather than spiral into a full blown panic attack though. I was told by an acquaintance in 2020 that an acting DI in the Sapphire (serious sexual assault) section of my old public protection team, who was nearing retirement at the time and was ostensibly well respected across the office floor, went out with another PP teammate. This man told this other team what sexual acts he’d love to do with me/to me, in graphic detail. I was told this information by this acquaintance less because they wanted to help me, more that they loved the drama when I responded with disgust, shock and horror. And that’s what sucks even more: the now retired DI was totally vile, but there were officers of all different ranks, some also dealing with serious sexual assault and some who I thought were good friends of mine - they were there when I wasn’t there defend myself. No-one, not one of them, said anything to me or to his pig of a man, and that really upset me until recently."

"I worked for the Met police for one year as civilian staff. I left to go back to my old job, but I actually left because I’d get abuse daily. I was called fat every single day (I am not even fat, but I’d get told I was being negged) everyone would laugh, it was constant from morning till evening. I’d dread going in, sometimes I’d go in and there would be food like donuts and sweets on my desk, and I’d be told to eat them in front of people. They started calling me fat when they’d introduce me to new officers and staff. I was nervous to eat food in front of them so I wouldn’t eat all day. I pushed to work from home as frequently as possible so I didn’t have to face them. It was like a horrible joke that had gone so far that it just was constant and I just left. When the Sarah Everard incident happened I felt sick I’d never said anything to these officers, or about them, but I just still don’t even want to I feel traumatised by it, I still can’t even eat properly in front of people. Other incidents- One officer who was nice to me got asked to stop talking to me by the inspector. I got asked things like what’s the best position sexually, i was told how people would imagine I acted in sexually I got told to make sure my legs were closed by the inspector while he tried to plug in his laptop under the desks. I got asked why my hair was ugly one day when I left it curly/had been for a swim."

"My manager had a small clique within the department that he had worked with before. They mocked a trans employee to the point they tried to take their own life. They held such hate views and would use the a word around the office without a second thought, both describing BAME students and staff. 6 people including myself left in the same month and raised a grievance. The grievance was upheld but he got to keep his job and position."

"The racism was clear and the treatment of staff wasn’t the best from the head of admin. The head admin of the ward shouted at me in front of my colleagues and patients. What she should have done professionally was to speak to my line manager to speak to me instead .. she used her power to shout at me."

"This fire service employs racist individuals and protect them. I report racist behaviour… he called immigrants ‘scumbags’ and said ‘they’re really good at washing cars’ with evidence of the posts on Twitter. Then I got accused of harassment against him because it was my 3rd complaint against him apparently!!!"

"I was stalked by a firefighter who sent me messages telling me he dreamed of raping me. When I eventually spoke up I was accused of having a relationship with him and lying to my manager by not informing of said relationship. I was questioned about my sex life for eight hours by a senior officer, suspended and then after I tried to kill myself they refused to let me have reasonable adjustments and pause the disciplinary process against me to seek help with my suicidal ideation and PTSD. They allowed my personal information to be spread around the Service and moved my stalker to my former place of work where he now works with my colleagues, making it impossible for me to go back and forcing me to leave."

"This force has chosen to reassign hundreds of disabled officers, even though they are performing well and contributing significantly in their current roles. These officers face no performance concerns, yet they are being displaced into positions where their skills are underused and, in many cases, made redundant. For those who had hoped to build long-term careers, these new roles often offer little chance of progression. Such displacement not only strips officers of purpose and value but also increases the risk of isolation and despair, heightening the likelihood of suicide. Equally troubling is the organisation’s response, where responsibility for welfare is brushed aside and passed off to employee assistance programmes or occupational health, as though the duty of care lies elsewhere. This raises a stark question: why is disability discrimination being allowed to persist within the service?"

"Left the police 10 years ago and I am still deeply affected by my experiences. I suffered real trauma and have never healed. I was sexually assaulted by another officer on my team in my sleep at 19 years old. He was in his 30s, married with kids. I was too scared to report it as I was new, but someone (let's call him P) reported it on my behalf because it happened in P's house. Wed had a house party celebrating coming to the end of training school. I woke up and this officer's hands were inside me. I was too scared to fight him off so l faked a coughing fit and asked if I could get a drink and ran out of the room. I was interviewed and gave a statement. He was moved to another department. Nothing ever happened. They told me there was no DNA evidence and so he kept his job. I was labelled a liar, and for 9 years | was called "the girl who cried rape". (Remember I never wanted to report it as l was terrified it would ruin my new career and I didn't want to ruin the offender's marriage). I was bullied and mocked by male officers, called a slut, and the reputation followed me my entire career. Everytime I joined a new team or worked with someone new I'd be whispered about. If I was crewed with a male officer the rest of the team would laugh and tell him to say goodbye to his career because I'd be claiming rape before the end of the shift. The offender remained in his post, and I was even put back on his team, working directly side by side with him. I had provided the police with my clothing and even a text message he sent me the following morning saying he was so sorry for what he'd done the night before and wasn't sure what came over him but that he had a wife and didn't want her to find out. But apparently it wasn't enough. I had to endure 9 years of blame and bullying. It ruined my life and affected the way everyone treated me. I was then groomed by an officer in his late 30's when I turned 20. A married man with children. I really did develop feelings for him and at my stupid age believed he loved me and I loved him. He used me, made promises of leaving his wife and toddler and starting a life with me and I believed every word. I told my closest friend about us and that we were meant to be and it turned out he had done the same to another woman. I ended things and this added to the already horrific reputation I had from being SA'd. I hated myself for allowing him to cheat on his wife with me and I reached out to his wife and we spoke at length. She left him eventually after he groomed another young girl. I then met my husband, not a police officer, had two children and eventually I left after having my second child. This is just the tip of the iceberg. I've watched an officer beat up a man because he was bored. An officer on my team slept with a vulnerable and young victim he'd taken a statement from. So many stories."

"I was a member of police staff working on a BCU. In 2021 I bent over to pick up a box on the floor. As I bent over a older female member of staff pinched and grabbed my bottom and said ooo juicy! I still have not reported it through fear of being laughed at and ignored. It has left me with a long term mental health conditions which has had a significant impact on my life."

"I was a police officer with under 2 years experience and due to a complaint I made, I felt victimised and bullied out of the force. I had made a complaint email to my inspector about my sergeant for bullying and that I was made to feel isolated and alone on team. Instead of dealing with this professionally, this insp had to be sent the email to my sergeant which had included all of the reasons why I do not trust my sergeant and the certain things he has done. I also complained about inappropriate texts in a group chat which got sidelined. He had also started a psd compliant against me for integrity which surprisingly got dealt with first before any of my previous complaints made. I decided to leave as I could tell the system was unfair and unsupportive and I was not being heard."

"I reported homophobia to my line manager, he was joining in with the so called banter, he denied this and failed to deal with this correctly. I escalated this to his line manager who told me to raise a greviance. These were clear breaches of professional standards. It was eventually passed to the psu who stated there was no case to answer. This has greatly affected my mental health. I have no faith in the organisation I work for."

"I used to work for Essex County Fire and Rescue Service and it was honestly one of the most traumatic experiences. I was subjected to misogynistic behaviour. A Firefighter took £50,000 from me, £10,000 from another female in the fire service and approximately £8000 from another female. The formal investigation was a shambles and he was found to have done nothing wrong. He raped me in July 2023 and is currently under investigation by the Police for Control and Coercive Behaviour…. Yet guess what… Essex Fire Service have done nothing to protect him from other females and the public. He’s still frontline. He’s still out there mixing with females. This fire service employs racist individuals and protect them. I report racist behaviour… he called immigrants ‘scumbags’ and said ‘they’re really good at washing cars’ with evidence of the posts on Twitter. Then I got accused of harassment against him because it was my 3rd complaint against him apparently!!!"

"One of my Sgts I noticed was being really stalker-ish and weird with my colleague/friend who was vulnerable and going through a difficult time with her husband. He followed her to the kitchen and the toilet and offered to go out on a job to take finger prints. She eye balled me as if to say come with me, I don’t want to go alone so I offered to go with her. Whilst we were alone she told me how he was messaging her all the time and following her when she went to the loo. I’d noticed this when we were on a night out too and he waited for her outside the toilets. My trust worthy male colleague had to make sure she was safe in the day and evenings when she clocked off. He was eventually moved to another team and had sexually assaulted a member of staff which is how PSD came to investigate him. Whilst speaking about it later it transpired that he’d sexually assaulted another colleague but she was too scared to report anything. He’s been sacked now, but he even had the nerve to show up at a colleagues funeral and claimed he was still in employment with the Police. He’s married with a wife and hasn’t long had a baby! Disgusting behaviour - how long has he been doing this throughout his 20+ year career?"

"On a couple of occasions a male PC I was crewed with watched porn whilst on duty. Once in the parade room in front of others (they just rolled their eyes and ignored it) and once when we were sat in a car together on a scene. "I was sexually harassed by a student officer in the training academy. My reports were ignored by supervision and he was kept in my class for months untill he was finally suspended. I was told by a senior officer I should have been ‘flattered’ by the student officers advances. I then went to my permanent posting where I was harassed and sexually assaulted by a tutor constable, who was already under investigation for stalking another colleague. I reported his behaviour but I was ignored and refused any sort of safeguarding. I have now left the Police for good. It’s rotten to the core."

"I was 21 when I first joined the police. I was in the office when a colleague was telling a story about revenge porn, I said I knew the victim as I went to school with her,.he proceeded to show me her nude photographs, I was no longer than a few months into the job.
That experience, amongst others, set the tone for how my career would go. The police service is laced with misogyny, student officers are conditioned to believe it is normal behavior, it is not a safe space to raise a complaint because we all see what happens when you speak up."

"I seen her bully many other members of the team and I even suspect she was in some kind of intimate relationship with our DCI. When we raised concerns we wasn’t able to confide in our management properly, as the DCI kept taking things back to her. I reported it to PSD along with other colleagues to be told it would be dealt with under “dignity at work” low and behold I found out later she was sacked for sexual assault against someone at work but because PSD f**ked the investigation up she got reinstated. You couldn’t make it up. She is a predator and I am concerned she is a Police Sgt working with vulnerable people."

"I used the integrity line as someone new to the team was being bullied and this was previously raised with SMT by someone else and nothing was done. Fairly new myself to the force I was shocked at what I saw from my colleagues and wondered myself how they were even police officers. One day in briefing the inspector brought the complaint up. He made more of a joke about it than addressing the issue. He also stated that we shouldn’t be going above him and using the integrity line!
Colleagues on my team gossiped that it was myself that put the complaint in, but a few others also had the same concerns as myself. One colleague in particular took a very strong disliking to myself after that briefing. At the end of the shift he would ask everyone by name if they needed help, put keys away or BWV but myself, to try and make me feel excluded on purpose. I didn’t have a particular good opinion of him anyway but would always back him up to a job if needed as we are supposed to be a team."

"One shift we were heading to the same job as we shouted up to comms at the exact same time, but no longer needed. Comms had asked me to go to another job and shouted up his call sign to back me up, not once but three times. Silence. Another colleague backed me up, but two seconds later another job came in that he shouted up for. What does that say?! There have been times where he has also made sly comments aimed at myself and said things so I deliberately hear it. He has been with the constabulary a good few years so I thought there was no point in raising this to any of the sgts because they would always side with him. The sgt called me in to their office randomly the other day. They straight up asked me if I was making a complaint about someone bullying me. I wasn’t but I mentioned the above and they said “he wouldn’t do that on purpose, he’s not like that”
I’ve worked a lot of different jobs but this is the worst, I feel like I’m back in school. I joined the police to do good and work alongside a supportive team with the same morals but this is not the case at all."

"Whilst working on a night shift a male officer told me he didn’t deal with a domestic violence situation and the victim came to serious harm- but he “got let off “ as apparently he followed process.
Even when training with the met at Lambeth I found that many call handlers were talking down to elderly callers and those with mental health problems.
It’s frightening to know that in your darkest hour this is the level of compassion you receive."

"I was horrendously bullied by my line manager whilst in my probation. Numerous reports but nothing got done. It resulted in me going on diazepam and, at the time, I was going through an IOPC investigation as I had been sexually exploited by a police officer from BTP. I ended up hanging myself with my Home Office belt, was forced to go to a hearing whilst on the sick & my line manager was conveniently there despite having put in a grievance against him. I returned to work but failed probation. It took 12 months for them to investigate, which meant I was unable to take them to a tribunal. The 'it's just an allegation' was eventually proven that I was telling the truth, hes apparently going through disciplinary now. Not only this, but I raised issues regarding sexual misconduct including messages saying 'I want to pin you by your throat against a wall' and senior officers telling me about sexual things they were doing. The Home Office/Border Force refused to even look at it. They refused to also look at videos of an officer in uniform bullying me and being horrible to me because I told him I didn't wish to have sex with him at work. Again, the force didn't want to do anything about it. You speak up and you end up losing your job. I was sexually exploited by a police officer whilst he was on bed watch when I was on a s136 because I was going through a rape investigation at the time and had no support. Even he decided to exploit me and enter into a sexual relationship with me whilst I was still detained. The force sacked him but refuse to take responsibility. I don't care if people can identify who I am, because I will never be as scared as I was putting that belt around my neck. So to those men who were in a position of trust and power, shame on you. To the Home Office who did nothing, hold your heads in shame. Your policy on VAWG clearly doesn't extend to those within your own forces!"

"The unit i work in is tainted with nepotism, discrimination, bullying and harassment. In a short period of time we have haemorrhage staff. Mainly they have left because of bullying. When this gets raised with HR, it is conveniently justified. The managers in my unit are protected, and impugn in their wrongdoings. One hour into a meeting, I was having another hypertension crises, but my second line manager refused to end it. The meeting continued for another hour. In 2023 I was receiving counselling for historical child sexual abuse, and I also reported an assault against me that occurred whilst I was serving for another police force. Both crucial events in my life where made aware to my line managers. But there only concern is the amount of tasks you complete."

"I still recall my first day working for the Metropolitan Police. I was employed as a civillian station reception officer. I wore a uniform, and I felt a sense of pride at representing the Police. It was not unusual to work eight, and sometimes nine hours on a day shift without a break. Despite citing this issue to my supervisor nothing changed. I had a data protection breach when my line manager sent my return to work sickness report to a Police Officer at another police station. The document contained details relating to my depression. I didn't report it because I felt nothing would be done again. The same Line Manager sexually assaulted me on a work team drink in the West End. London. While standing at the bar to purchase a drink, my line manager creeped up behind me and placed her hand between my legs groping me. When I turned around she walked away clearly drunk, and was smirking.

"I would like to stay anonymous due to the fear of harassment I may face. I worked for the MPS for many years and the work I conducted I loved. Unfortunately, I was faced with harassment, bullying and career blocking at the hands of a few senior leaders who oversaw my department. This manager also did it to 3 other people and he would fix the results of interview outcomes to allow people unqualified to get the role. One person appointed had allegations of sexual harassment against him. The ladies who were victims got told by this manager that they were to blame and he covered up the claims. He was coercive and controlling. If you didn't participate in his clique of people, you were disgraced. I had to leave the organisation because of how toxic the environment is. I loved that what I did was a great contribution to keeping people safe. But I would never work in policing again, the trust has gone. To this day the manager who harassed me is still in post, also the member if staff who sexually harassed other members of staff continues to work for the organisation. I don't believe its a safe place for women to work. I hope something us being done about the bullying culture if the MPS."

"A follow up to the post from the 15th June. That same PS was my skipper when I joined a few years ago. I remember getting a dressing down from him because I “poached” an arrest, I didn’t even know what that meant, and during this was even called a “c*nt” for it. I even remember a time when I was just stepping away from the urinal as he came in, he made some bizarre comment like “woah it’s a good job I didn’t have my knob out”. Who even says such a thing?! He was arrested earlier in his career; he ejaculated in a cup of coffee he made for his girlfriend at the time. He got away with it because he said she enjoyed it normally. He was also having an affair with another married woman on team, whilst married with kids himself. They repeatedly lied to everyone and anyone, including local SLT. When it came out, no one was shocked. They both took time off “for stress”. It wasn’t long before the Christmas Party incident happened where finally he was suspended. So yeah, got sacked cos he couldn’t keep it in his pants - time, and time again."

"In December 2021 myself and 3 colleagues were sexually assaulted by a serving Police Sgt on a Christmas Night out. The subsequent investigation by our Professional Standards Dept was handled so poorly that the Special quit her job and I asked to withdraw from the investigation. My job was threatened if I withdrew. The worst part was the same Sgt had been arrested for his treatment of another female colleague years before and got off on a technicality. He'd then been moved teams multiple times due to multiple affairs with other female colleagues meaning the Force had missed multiple chances to safeguard us from him and then totally destroyed us during the process of taking him to a misconduct hearing."

"I was arrested and charged for theft of police property in 2021 from start to finish the investigation was corrupt. I was calling witnesses and they was being threatened and told to lie on the stand by the DPS and officer in the case. The DPS officer was in the court room and ignored clear cases of perverting the course of justice. I reported the corruption to the DPS and submitted credible evidence yet no case to answer. This has severely effected my mental health and I now struggle to leave the house. The MPS has completely destroyed my life!"

He has no repercussions for the bullying over the last 3 months and they won’t let me put in a formal complaint against him. "I was "managed" out of the MPS between 2021 and 2023 due to being in the high risk category concerning Covid. They didn't train me sufficiently and made no special adjustments to assist me. When I noted that it was having a terrible effect on my mental health, they ignored me. In the end, I was told to get onto street duties without adequate training and waiving their culpability in case I caught Covid and got seriously ill. The only other option was to be dismissed as my probation was due to expire. Or to resign which I did because I didn't want a MPS sacking on my record especially given the scandals engulfing the institution at the time. I encountered discrimination both over disability, religion and race. Yet when I complained to them last year, my concerns were dismissed and not adequately dealt with."

"I was told I spent 5 months making up a lung condition just to take 2 days off in that entire time.
It has been now diagnosed as adult onset asthma.
Bumbling, snap judgements and terrible corruption from a police officer. Did no 'police work' and lazily decided to 'charge without evidence' by suspending my supervisor status. Not fit to be in the organisation by any means, a danger to the public if this is how corrupt she behaves openly, lying to staff, lawyers and dishonestly obtaining services for free additionally.

"I was treated really badly also in a law enforcement job and by the police. Similar story to yours, I was in that bad place. I wish now I did more against those in the dept and the system that wronged me, but here I am. I wish you the best in your campaign."

"They demonstrated a serious breach of their duty of care towards me as an employee with a disability. My attempts to address this through my supervision were met with further disregard for my medical needs and a failure to ensure fair treatment. A particularly egregious act was a supervisor's falsification of records. The struggle to obtain equitable treatment culminated in formal legal action at tribunal resulting in a financial payout of several thousand pounds, reflecting the gravity of the discrimination I was subjected to."

"I disclosed repeated sexist behaviour by my male manager to his boss, and she responded by using her position to make my working life intolerable. She weaponised the fact that I had taken leave for a health condition, and shamed me for ‘letting the whole team down’ by being on sick leave. She yelled at me in meetings. The male manager showed up at my home address twice. HR enabled their behaviour. Eventually I resigned."

"Reported an officer for domestic abuse against myself last year. Case dropped as it was never properly investigated and he continues to be a serving officer. The job and currently trying to get rid of me because I’m not letting it go. He also has history for this. Abuse amounted to controlling and coercive behaviour."

"Hello from a Met Police officer. I write this after feeling so frustrated about the environment i work in. I’m a frontline response officer and i am fortunate to be surrounded by colleagues who are supportive and take pride in their integrity. Unfortunately the environment in which i work has become increasingly uncomfortable as of late. There is an officer who has somewhat recently joined the team from another area. It transpired that he moved due to being investigated for sexual assaults of two of his colleagues while on a ‘night out’. He is not allowed to take certain calls e.g. sexual assaults and is not allowed to be left on his own with any females. Yes, you heard that correctly, a police officer who cannot be alone with female victims or prisoners at any time. This includes doing constant watches, hospital guards and even having to leave a call due to the victim being a woman and another unit having to relieve him and his colleague. Yet, he regularly gets posted with female PCs who feel uncomfortable being with him. He has made a number of comments to officers that make them feel uncomfortable including details of his most recent sexual encounters with an officer who had only recently joined the team. Some of the PCs on the team have spoke to the sergeants/governer about their concerns but these have all been widely ignored. Yet on the same week we are being forced to attend ‘New Met for London training’ where officers have to endure hours of being lectured about how the met has changed and having the courage to speak up, knowing that in reality their concerns go widely ignored."

"Your willingness to speak out about misogyny and other issues within the Met resonates deeply with me, as I have also witnessed and been impacted by similar problems with Met Command and control. I have been a supervisor there since 2019 and have recently resigned."

"I reported a senior officer from another force for drink-driving while armed. I believed this was the right thing to do, but instead of being supported, I faced escalating reprisals. I have submitted multiple grievances detailing whistleblowing detriment, disability discrimination, and procedural failings, yet none have been properly addressed. This ongoing treatment has devastated my career, finances, and mental health."

"I’ve worked as a prison officer for approximately three years. When I first started working there, I was witness to humour of which I always deemed to be inappropriate by wing staff and others alike. I was told that, they would only be as dark as they were, to get them through the day. As a prison officer, we deal with horrific circumstances every day. A normal day could consist of a cell fire, a person self harming or a violent incident between two prisoners. And that would only be before 9am in the morning! I always thought, if people are making rape jokes, misogynistic comments or sexist behaviour as a way of coping with the job, why is it that only the men were doing it? And I dare not to call it out in fear of being ostracised, or not one of the ‘lads’. And if you don’t fit in, in this job? The prisoners will notice that divide and use it to their advantage. So for three years, I slide into the background, embarrassingly acting as a bystander whilst those on my team get away with it, again and again. Until one day, I had gone out with a friend I don’t work with, and I bump into some from my residential team wing. One says ‘look at this video’ - he shows me his phone. The video depicts a couple having sex. I challenge him, refusing to watch pornography and I feel a sense of dread. He claims it was him in the video and his tone changes to ‘and that’s what happens when women say no to me’. My heart drops, I make an excuse to say my goodbyes to leave and I cry all the way home. I wake up the next morning and I report him to the police. I make an anonymous complaint with the details I can recollect and sign my report. Three weeks later, the police visit him and he’s arrested at work. He returns a week later and he’s angry. He states he doesn’t know who reported him ‘for just a sex video’ and his mates and him interrogate every female member of staff."

The accusations are flying: ‘she’s a slut, she probably did it’ or ‘I rejected her, bet it was her’. Men at work vow to ostracise those who have ‘grassed’ and vow to make their life hell if it gets out. They say ‘if a guy has done this, he’s not one of us’. I stay silent until I’m called to the governor’s office that afternoon. He thanks me for reporting it and says it will be kept confidential. Then another one thanks me, and then another one thanks me. I break down at home and I call the sick line. I quit on the spot, and I’m not returning. No answer back, nothing else, goodbye. I talk it through and break down to my parents and tell them everything. They both hug me and tell them they couldn’t be prouder. The deputy governor calls back asking to see me, refuses to accept my resignation. He wants to protect ‘people like me, who does the right thing’. I return, I use it as fire to move to another department away from him, and I’m eventually promoted. The investigation takes over a year to conclude and he’s cleared and has all charges dropped. Voyeurism, the rape charge dropped. He doesn’t learn a thing. He was never suspended, or kept off pending. He was allowed to continue his role, and got away with it. He still watches Andrew Tate in his lunch break, and still bleats the same sexist, misogynistic tropes as before. Will he have learnt anything? I doubt it. Will the service have learnt anything? I very much doubt that either. But am I glad, I reported it, despite the blowback and abuse I would have been subjected to? Yes. Something needs to change. Cultures and systems of toxic masculinity allowing to thrive in our societies that should swear to serve, protect and rehabilitate. I vow to change that, one day at a bloody time."

“A family member was in the police once, and she too heard and was at the end of sexism and bullying, Needless to say she left in the end, as those at the top just close ranks.A great loss to the police as she was devoted to holding up law and order and advocated fairness too.”
